non-profit organization,
founded in 2013, has as its mission, “to educate, advocate and foster development of
Public Safety training in
Prince George’s County schools, providing a pathway to service benefiting youth and the community.”

Resourced by County and other private funding sources, its all-volunteer Board of Directors works to improve life for 13-18-year-old youth from underserved communities. CPSTS provides funding for two local high schools supporting the Fire Science Cadet Program that could lead to employment as a County Firefighter/EMT. Additionally, CPSTS’ three staples: Public Safety Educational/Informational Tours Program (insider’s view of a 9-11 Call Center); Driver’s Education Scholarship Program (driver’s license earned and needed for Public Safety employment); and Life, Leadership, and Life Skills Program (mentoring, interview techniques, resume writing, time management, effective communications skills).
